# Utilities

> Everything holding MCR does across the Monochrome ecosystem.

MCR is engineered so that holding and using the token is rewarded across the entire platform, not a single product.

## Trading fee discounts

Tiered by 30-day average holdings, across all spot and derivatives markets:

| VIP Tier | MCR held    | Trading fee discount |
| -------- | ----------- | -------------------- |
| VIP 1    | 1,000 MCR   | 10%                  |
| VIP 2    | 5,000 MCR   | 20%                  |
| VIP 3    | 20,000 MCR  | 30%                  |
| VIP 4    | 100,000 MCR | 50%                  |

Applied automatically at execution. Stacks with volume-based discounts under the standard VIP volume schedule.

## Launchpad and Digital IPO access

MCR is the exclusive access token for the [Launchpad](/platform/launchpad) and for every [Digital IPO](/platform/digital-ipos). Allocation is weighted by MCR held or staked at snapshot: larger balances, larger allocation. VIP tiers also reduce subscription fees. MCR is never consumed by participating.

## Staking

Stake MCR to:

* Earn staking rewards, paid in MCR from the Ecosystem Incentives allocation
* Increase Launchpad and Digital IPO allocation weight, by staked balance and lock duration
* Qualify for the [node programme](/participate/nodes)

## Node ecosystem

Qualifying holders earn ecosystem rewards for supporting exchange growth, community building, and regional distribution:

| Global Partner | By invitation | Global ecosystem revenue share                   |

## Governance

MCR confers voting rights over designated ecosystem decisions through the Monochrome DAO: listings, Launchpad parameters, ecosystem incentive deployment, DAO treasury, and node-programme policy. See [Governance](/token/governance).

## Multi-asset by design

Because Monochrome spans crypto, equities, bonds, derivatives, and RWAs, MCR's utility extends across the full breadth of the ecosystem. As new asset classes launch and the Digital IPO mechanism scales, the scope of MCR's benefits expands with it.
